Dateline Manila: 1 September 2006

No matter how much we deny it, most males in the early-forties go through a mid-life crisis by choice or circumstance. It is a time when they
dream of faster, more exciting times to feel free again. Just like Bruce Dern in the comedy "Middle Age Crazy".
This manifests in various ways, some men have affairs or buy a new sports car in a bid to flaunt their new selves - tomatoes that are reversing the ripening process. Some just become worse versions of themselves. But more on this later.
Maybe I have immunized myself from this malady by devoting a good amount of quality time to my wife Marga and to my son Aldo (Here seen with me in the photo with his Richard Widmark sneer). But who knows? Life can be comic odyssey when you least expect it. Just like most of 2006 for me. In the next couple of months, indulge the perorations and ruminations of a fictional Middle Ager from a LaLa suburb in Call Center Land, the BPO rival of Bangalore. Marga, Aldo, and I greet Lilibeth, Claudia, Eva, Eddie & Mia, Veronica & Alphonse, Tim & Cris.
